It was a very cloudy and wet day in Michigan, lots of wet snow and all I wanted to do was to sip on some hot peppermint tea.
I also thought it was a perfect day to swatch the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. They come in 20 available shades and out of which I selected 4. I am very impressed by these, I am totally wowed by the pigmentation. For a hydrating and smooth lip product I expected less color, but the opposite was the case.
My endless hunt for a good hydrating foundation primer finally came to an end the moment I came across Skin Prep FX. What caught my eye was, not only does this act as a primer, it's also an anti aging serum.
I have combination skin that gets a bit dry during the winter and this primer is definitely working wonders for me. It creates a smooth base for foundation application and my makeup stays put till i'm ready to take it off.
Anti Aging Benefits
I find it hard to notice changes or developments on my skin when I add a product to my skincare regimen, what I did notice though was that when I take off my makeup at night with my cleansing wipe after 9 to 12 hours of work and running around like a scared chicken, my skin appeared unbelievably relaxed, revived, lively and radiant... kind of makes me want to skip using my clarisonic but hey, we all don't want Ms Mia here to get jealous :)
I apply this on a clean moisturized skin and then follow with my foundation. I set my foundation with a powder or spray and on some occasions I skip the setting part. If you have extremely dry skin you may skip the powder. It depends on how you would like your foundation to wear.
This primer is perfect for all skin types especially normal to dry skins.

Overall, this is a wonderful product. The $45 price tag is definitely a deal for a 2 in 1 product that works effectively.
My favorite lipstick formula by Chanel is the Rouge Coco, they are hydrating, lightweight and very smooth. Recently, the spring collection for 2012 was released and of course I had to my my hands on at least one rouge coco.
My destiny definitely lied with Destinée.
I picked Destinée because it's effortlessly beautiful! It's a very universally flattering rosy plum color.
The ease of application of the Rouge Coco makes a very comfortable wear.
Destinée is available and retails for $32 at any US Chanel counter or website.
Chanel recently released their Spring 2012 collection colors. Here are some photos of their nail colour in April which is a beautiful creamy berry color with no shimmer. It's limited edition so if this impresses you, move fast before it's all gone :)
As you can see, this nail polish is very opaque, 1 coat definitely does it for me.
I was quite skeptical when I got news of the release of a second Naked eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay. Of course my curiosity got the best of me which led me to order this on the release day.
The Urban Decay Naked 2 palette was released on Thursday December 1st 2011 on the Urban Decay website. A little bit past noon I got an email saying that it was available for purchase on the website.
I was able to order after only a few minutes of the website being jammed due to this release. I was lucky enough to get the first 5000 palettes which sold out pretty quickly in just a few hours.
This palette features 12 neutral shades out of which are 5 exclusive new shades, it also comes with a mini lip junkie lipgloss in Naked and a double ended eyeshadow and crease brush.
I also got the 24/7 glide on pencil in Eldorado as a gift with purchase
...here are some photos
Overall, I am very impressed with the quality, packaging and pigmentation of this palette, I can't point out though which one I prefer because I like them both equally. Customer service was great as usual and shipping was pretty quick.
This retails for $50 at the Urban Decay website for now. It is currently sold out but, if you sign up to get notified of availability, you will get an email once the product is available.
I don't know about you, but i'm getting Naked all over again!
Make Up For Ever is slowly becoming one of my "can't live without" makeup brands. I never tried on a Make Up For Ever powder blush before this, I was only aware of the HD micro finish cream blush and I never knew they had powder blushes.
I watched a video of one of my FAVORITE Youtube Gurus lipSH0CK and she featured MUFE powder blush in #161 which led me to pick up this shade #99 which is a matte red blush.
Check out her video here she is such and AMAZING girl.
It's a great color for every skin tone! Don't shy away from this color because it's very easy to work with. I recommend using a duo fiber stippling brush to apply this and build it up to your personal preference.
Make Up For Ever powder blushes retail for $19 at Sephora.
...On a side note, I am soo tempted to put this on my lips
The temperature drops, humidity drops and our skin feels dry, dull, rough and flaky. How do you treat your skin during this time of the year???
I feed my skin when it's hungry and I hydrate my skin when it's thirsty.
My skincare routine has not stayed consistent this past week due to my move. I experienced some pretty intense dry skin than I was used to.
Origins "Never A Dull Moment" and "Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask" both play a very important role in my skincare regimen.
Never A Dull Moment is an exfoliator which contains finely ground apricot and mango seeds, those little grains are very gentle on the skin. It gently gets rid of dead skin cells and reveals a more healthy and radiant looking skin. Check it out here.
Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask replenishes moisture and makes my skin skin look more hydrated. It contains avocado which is one of my favorite natural skincare remedies, it plays a very important role in hydration. Check this product out here.
These 2 products can be found at you local origins store or at the Origins website.
This is how I fight my dry skin problemos...
Start with a clean face.
Open you pores by placing a warm towel over your face for 2 minutes.
Apply a mixture or "Never A Dull Moment and Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask" gently in a circular motion.
Sit for 15 to 20 minutes then rinse off with a damp face cloth.
Follow with you favorite moisturizer.
Sit back, feel your skin and let me know how it feels.
P.S- A good homemade alternative can be found in one of my previous videos here.
