YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation

The magic light of Touche Eclat has been infused in a foundation...

YSL recently released a foundation that has the same illuminating and brightening effects as the very popular Touche Eclat.
YSL is a brand that I truly respect, I feel like they put a lot of thoughts into the products that they create, they take a lot of things into consideration and deliver exceptionally!

I have a serious problem with brands that release overhyped products (foundations and concealers mostly) in 5 shades, ship it to different parts of the world and expect some kind of success, shame on y'all!

Anyway...

One thing that I worry about and i'm sure a lot of other women of color worry about is the color range of a foundation.
Le Teint Touche Eclat is said to come in a whooping 17 shades with 3 different undertones Beige, Beige Dore and Beige Rose.

Theres only a few foundations that actually live up to the "no makeup look" claim, theres usually something wrong when I try out foundations with those claims.
Le Teint Touche Eclat makes me look like a brighter and better skinned looking me.
It's got a light to medium coverage, it blends out very very easily and no matter how many layers you apply, you can never get a mask looking face with this foundation.

I mean, who does not want to look like a few years has been knocked off your actual age? (maybe in 5 years I'll start thinking like that) :)

keep in mind that my left had is excessively dark due to auto operation tanning :)

I picked up B80 (beige 80) and its a perfect match for my skin, for reference, I fluctuate between NW45 and NW47 depending on the MAC foundation formula (I referenced MAC foundation shades because it seriously is one of the popular ones out there)

I have combination skin and my forehead gets quite oily during the summer, I generally do not like to powder my foundation (even though I have a ton of powders, Lord knows why).
I do however prefer to wear a mattifying primer under certain foundations to prevent me from looking like a freshly deep fried bag of french fries.

I didn't use a primer or concealer in the photos above.

The cool thing about this foundation is how my skin looks when I wear it... visibly brighter, smoother  and more luminous. Compliments came from everyone including folks that never really talked at work.

A colleague was soo serious to know what I had on so that he could recommend it to his wife... our conversation went from talking about foundation to sunscreen and skincare, a few others joined in and gasped with amazement at how much I knew... I felt like such a beauty dork, lol.

Anyway...
In the photo below, I have on the Tarte Clean Slate Poreless Foundation Primer under the foundation.

My top 5 foundations consists of the more luminous kinds, I have a favorite matte foundation for my evil gemini twin :)
I find this foundation to be BFF's with combination to dry skin. Even though I am more combination/oily, I really like this foundation and it has definitely kicked one foundation off the top 5 list.

I picked this up a week ago from Saks and I got a call today from my local Nordies telling me that the've got them in.
It retails for $55.

I hope this was helpful.

xoxo
Michelle

  2. This looks fantastic on your skin. I wasn't particularly impressed with Touch Eclat, and with my freshly deep fried oily skin (LOL)- I doubt it would work out for me. Still, if I can find this anywhere around here in stores - believe I'll be getting a sample.

    1. Lol, the drooling was meant in a non-psycho manner! Your skin just looks really flawless in the after picture, especially without concealer. I picked up a generous sample from Neimans yesterday, also in B80 (for reference I'm a NW43-45 in the summer). I played with it a little bit today & I'm thoroughly impressed. Thank you so much for the review:)

  10. This looks great on you. I'm more of a matte-finish foundation lover.

I completely relate to your sentence here:
" I have a serious problem with brands that release overhyped products (foundations and concealers mostly) in 5 shades, ship it to different parts of the world and expect some kind of success, shame on y'all! "

I have similar issues with other brands. What is worse is when stores insists on only carrying the first 6 shades...as if nobody else would want to buy the darker shades.

    1. Hi Fieran. I agree, that's one thing I dislike about Sephora, they don't carry all the Laura Mercier or Lancôme foundation shades.
